Thinkin’ Out Loud (About the One Ring)

Okay, you know that song “Thinkin’ Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran? Try putting these words over it. Enjoy 🙂

Well, I fought through Nazgul and made it to you

With the four young Halflings in tow

And we met under moonlight to say that “we do”

Though we both know I’ll have to go

Still, your dad said

You’d grow old and dead

If you married me

Well, I’d fight for us

But I can’t just

Ignore his plea

I’m thinkin’ out loud

“I am leaving soon on a dangerous quest

And surely you cannot come along

Maybe you should simply go into the west”

But thank you girl for saying I’m wrong

So Arwen now

Take me into your Elven arms

Give me a vial of the light of the Evanstar

Tell me you’d give up your immortal heart

Though our paths will take us far apart…

Well some elves, some dwarves, and Gondorians came

(I think they already were on their way)

And they shuddered when they heard Sauron’s name

And we argued about it all day

Boromir stood

And said the ring would be good

With Gondor’s men

I asserted myself

And Gimli yelled at an elf

What happened then?

It’s hard to say how:

Gandalf got to saying mysterious things

Elrond tried to stick to the plan

That one of us would take and destroy the one ring

So Frodo went and put up his hand

Oh Frodo now—

You’ll have his bow, his axe, and my sword

We will use them to fight through the mighty horde

To destroy the one ring of the darkest lord

(And assure you that you won’t get bored)

Oh Frodo now—

You’ll have his bow, his axe, and my sword

We will use them to fight through the mighty horde

To destroy the one ring of the darkest lord

(And assure you that you won’t get bored)

Though it’s nine hours long you won’t get bored

(Y’know Peter Jackson gave his word)

Thank you Ed Sheeran and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy for the inspiration!
